Awakening Blue Tides is a 22 by 30-inch mixed media piece where I focused on the movement and energy of color as a way to capture a moment of emotional flow. This abstract composition speaks through layers and texture, inviting you into a world shaped by varying blues, whites, grays, and deeper tones. The surface is rich with tactility. Thick, rough patches contrast with smoother swirls, creating a sense of rhythm and motion that feels alive.

The inspiration behind Awakening Blue Tides came from an intense feeling I wanted to translate into movement. Rather than depict a scene, I chose to let color and texture carry the expression. The blues shift and pulse like tides, evoking water and sky but never settling into a fixed form. It’s a conversation between calm and force, light and shadow. An unfolding energy that invites you to explore its layers.

During the creative process, I worked with a mix of inks, acrylics, and oils, building up textured surfaces that respond to light and create depth. Each layer added a new dimension, both visually and emotionally. The tactile quality encourages a closer look to experience not just what you see but how it feels. 

Awakening Blue Tides is a reminder of the power found in fluidity. The strength in movement and change. It reflects moments when energy rises and flows, carrying us forward. Through this work, I hope to offer a space for reflection on transformation, and to invite you to connect with your own inner tides.
